 Astronomical texts were first understood by J. Epping who had been working with Late Babylonian texts copied and sent to him by J. N. Strassmaier. Their collaboration led to the first book on Babylonian astronomy (Epping 1889). Still mostly based on copies by Strassmaier, F. X.
