Description: The "Middle Assyrian Laws" are found on a group of tablets from Assur that are currently labeled MAL A to O. The object under discussion is MAL A, the best preserved tablet, which has a late fragmentary duplicate. The importance of this particular tablet is less its state of preservation, but the fact that it deals predominantly with laws concerning women considering many aspects of violation and crime.
