 ==== Biography ====
 Second roi de la dynastie d'Ur III, Šulgi (2094-2047) a l'un des plus longs règnes connus de l'histoire mésopotamienne: quarante-huit ans. Il est, de plus, le premier souverain mésopotamien pour lequel on puisse établir une série cohérente des noms d'années, qui servent de fil conducteur pour établir l'histoire "officielle" de son règne. Des compléments ponctuels sont fournis par les hymnes écrits en son honneur.
